The roller coaster ride of life has been intense with ups and and a few downs these past couple of months and I’ve been mostly silent for various reasons, the biggest of which is that it just wasn’t time to share yet. But now it’s past time to share and I must stop being negligent of the 3 people who read
.
After four years of on and off trying the missus and I finally got that joyful pink line. In bed with a mosquito has taken on another possible meaning – We’re pregnant! The missus is growing a human. Come early August we’ll have another little being in the house and in our lives and we’re so excited. The missus is doing well so far and her belly is now impossible to hide except under really baggy clothing. We’ve resorted to ordering in far more than I like to admit as a way to cope with the exhaustion. My head is swimming with all sorts of different feelings and half-formed lists about what we need to do and buy and how on earth we’re going to get it all done.
I got a promotion at work too which is thrilling but is a great deal more responsibility and gathering the information to feel like I’m doing my best from the start has taken over my life for the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, we were among the many organizations that had to take a big step back because of financial issues and a couple of good work friends were among those who were laid off as part of the reduction in force.
It feels inappropriate somehow, to be so full of glee at a time when we have so many family members and friends going through hard times, whether financial or otherwise, when the country, the world is in such a rough time financially. When my office, like many others, is dealing with the aftermath of a reduction in force. When so many friends have been and continue to be affected by lay offs, downsizing, and general worries about the state of their/their family’s/the country’s financial health. But I have to figure out how not to beat myself up for my luck while still being supportive of my friends in difficult times.

Words do not adequately express how excited we are for you. I’m bursting with excitement. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
And you shouldn’t feel bad, the joyous occasions of our friends helps us through the difficult times.
I’m soooooooo happy happy happy!!!!!!
I just learned a college friend is also pregnant – there will be lots of baby heads to smell, hurrah! My missus and I are trying to cobble an East Coast tour together before I start working. We’ll see what happens, but keep your calendar free, k?
